Welcome to Nachiketa Tapovan

Swami Vivekananda through his soul stirring speeches and quotes awakens in each of us an inner calling urging us to work hard and to elevate mankind economically and spiritually.
Nachiketa Tapovan, is a fruit of such inner calling-a spiritually oriented service organization formed in January 1999. The main aim is to spread the moral and spiritual values amongst the youth. Tapovan aims at achieving this by translating its ideals into practical activities for the elevation of humanity irrespective of caste, creed, community, or gender, looking upon people as the absolute manifestation of the Divine.

Insight

'Nachiketa' means the one who is beyond Happiness and Sorrow. The character 'Nachiketa' occurs in the Katha Upanishad. A mere boy, he had unflinching faith in himself and was devoted to his father. He was pure, fearless, and possessed indomitable courage. He had no fear of death. He dared to go to the abode of Yama, God of Death. From Yama, he learnt about the mystery of death and what lies beyond it. Yama taught Nachiketa the ultimate spiritual Reality, which is hidden in every being. The boy was an ideal child in every respect, possessing character, a brilliant intellect, and a thirst for supreme knowledge. 'Tapovan' is a place where one's Culture can be developed, as well as good habits, manners, virtues, moral and spiritual values can be assimilated and imparted. 'Nachiketa Tapovan' is greatly inspired by the lives and messages of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and many other spiritual souls, because of their universal teachings. "Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached!" is now a great Mantra of Nachiketa Tapovan. In legacy with this Mantra, the Tapovan has decided not to stop till the goal is reached and started many activities tirelessly to serve the underprivileged and weaker sections of the society, who otherwise feel cut-off themselves from the society.
